What with 5 consecutive days in port at Port Saguenay, Québec, Trois-Riviéres and Montreal there has been no time to prepare and post blogs but today and tomorrow we are ’at sea’ or to be precise cruising North-East on the downstream leg of our journey on the St Lawrence River and sadly turning for home. It has been an enjoyable and very varied 5 days in port with a maiden visit of any cruise ship to Trois-Riviéres and what a warm welcome and send–off we had with thousands of the local inhabitants on the quayside to welcome and mark our leaving, even the primary school children were brought down to the quay during the day to see the ’big ship’ but more about our stay in this city in another posting to come.
We left Montreal at 10.30pm last evening and sailed back by Quebec at 8.40am this morning in glorious sunshine. In the few days that we have been up river the trees have begun to turn and I spent a windy but wonderful hour this morning on deck enjoying the changing colours and I hope you enjoy the photo. By mid-day the sky had become overcast and we have entered in a wider part of the river so not so much to see although by mid-afternoon we should be in whale watching territory off Tadoussac where I went last Monday and I promise a blog posting will followproviding I don’t fall to sleep after a wonderful lunch of baked brie and warm cranberries!!
